Quinoa Crop

Quinoa
(Chenopodium quinoa)

A herbaceous annual native to the Andean region of South America. Growing 100-200cm in height with green, red, yellow or purple flowering panicles, producing seeds rich in protein.

The seeds are about 1-2 mm in diameter and of various colours — from white to red or black, depending on the cultivar.

Fairking has been producing saponin-high Quinoa as a game cover crop for over 35 years and in 2014, introduced our own non-bitter selections of white Quinoa for UK consumption.
